Looking back to a beautiful ‘Heart of Gold’

Looking back tot a beautiful successful ‘Heart of Gold’ event. How beautiful is it to connect both old and new employees during a symposium. They guests were received by the Queen of Hearts and entered the hall through a specially made corridor with flashes of light on the heartbeat (of a 3 by 3 of polystyrene foam with projection of the logo). There was a screen of 15 x 6 meters (which had never been in the Van Nelle Factory before). The chairman of the day was Harmke Pijpers (from BNR News Radio). She took the guests (doctors, researchers, former employees, fellows and stakeholders) to the past, the present and especially  the future of the Erasmus MC Thorax Center. All this in a living room setting created on the stage. Harmke interviewed cardiologists from then and now. There were presentations given by among others, Prof.dr.ir. Wim van Saarloos, Jacques Souquet, Prof. Ton van der Steen and Prof.dr. Hans van Leeuwen. The program was interspersed with a performance by a Quadro Flamenco and a theater piece specially made for this occasion by Maartje and Kine.

After the symposium the party started for all staff members of the Thorax Center Erasmus MC. During the party there was delicious food from all the different food buffets and there was a mobile DJ who turned various requests. You could eat a printed pancake, have a 3D printed cheese cube in the shape of a heart and a nitro ice cream as a dessert. As a stunner of the evening, Shirma Rouse was there with her band to end the evening.
